Cancellation Policy

Definitions

Early Cancellation: If you cancel your appointment by calling or emailing Ginny Magee (hello@growingus.com.au) before 4pm the day prior to your scheduled appointment, no fee will be charged.

Late Cancellation: If you cancel your appointment after 4pm the day before your scheduled appointment, 50% of the service fee (at the hourly rate) will be charged.

Missed Appointment/No show: If you do not attend your scheduled appointment or fail to call or email Ginny Magee before the scheduled time, 100% of the service fee (at the hourly rate) will be charged. Full payment before your next session will be required.

Therapist Cancellation: If the therapist needs to cancel a session for any reason, no fee will be charged.

Extenuating Circumstances: Exceptions to cancellation fees may apply in cases of genuine emergencies or unavoidable circumstances, such as accidents or family crises. These will be assessed on a case-by-case basis. Clients are encouraged to notify as soon as possible if an extenuating circumstance arises.

Purpose

Play Therapy requires a high level of commitment and consistency. Regular session attendance supports effective therapeutic treatment and helps Growing Us Play Therapy manage waitlists efficiently. In accepting a regular therapy time with Growing Us Play Therapy, clients agree to commit to attending all scheduled sessions, excluding extenuating circumstances. We recognise that this requires signicant commitment from all parties, and we do our best to accommodate and be flexible to meet your family’s needs.

If regular attendance becomes a challenge (more than three cancellations), Growing Us Play Therapy will work with you to determine whether this is a suitable time for therapy.

If your appointment is scheduled at a third-party venue (e.g. a school or early learning education centre), it is the parent/carer’s responsibility to notify the location of any cancellations.

To help minimise cancellation fees, appointment reminders are sent via email three days prior to your scheduled session.

In the case of therapist cancellation, no fee will be charged.
